Leaving America

How my one-way flight turned into a three year adventure

Welcome to the Black Executive Men newsletter. I’m Jewel Love, and I help Black men hit 7-figures in their jobs or businesses. If you’re new here, please subscribe below.

Three years ago, I left America.

I was still working from home in the 'hood of East Oakland during the pandemic. I gave up my office.

And I decided to try living in Colombia.

But I was scared of getting robbed or catching COVID in a foreign country.

Now, I’m not gangster by any means, but I knew how to navigate in Oakland.

However, I’d seen enough Narcos to know Colombia was different.

So I hired a coach who helped me tame these fears.

It's always risky going for your dreams.

• I bought my one-way ticket
• Put my car in storage
• Sold everything else

My family said goodbye like it was the last time.

I hopped on the plane, and 24 hours later I was taking Zoom calls from my beautiful new Medellin apartment.

I felt like I'd found heaven on earth.

Colombia absolutely changed my life, and I finally felt like I belonged somewhere.

The music, the culture, the warmth of the people, the feminine ways of everyday women, the mixture of ethnicities, the food, the weather, and the landscape were exactly what I needed to feel absolutely whole and fully alive, like I’d never felt before in the States.

The feeling of being viewed as less than or a criminal for being a man of color, like I’ve experienced in the States, was completely out of the window.

For once, I was seen as just normal, and it felt great.

After Colombia, I bounced over to Ecuador, where the men’s suit game was on point.

The best men’s suit game is in Quito, Ecuador, hands down. Phenomenal pieces. Colors, ties, and accessories

I took a few of my Colombian custom-made suits for a test drive and fit right in.

After Ecuador, I bounced down to Peru and hung out in Lima, the capital, for two months, and spent another month in Cusco, visiting Machu Picchu.

Guys, if you ever get a chance to visit Machu Picchu in Peru, you have to go. It’s a mandatory trip.

The ceviche up there is amazing, but the site itself is unbelievably epic and is a global pilgrimage for spiritual people, history buffs, and adventure seekers.

From there, I bounced down to Argentina and over to Brazil before landing in Mexico.

I’ve been traveling for three years now and love it.

  • I’ve tried Ayahuasca.

  • I’ve done muschrooms.

  • I’ve been to psychotherapy.

  • I’ve had transformational coaches.

  • I’ve been through men’s initiation ceremonies

  • I’m familiar with Ifa and many other world religions

However, my global travel adventure for the last three years has provided a level of healing, empowerment, and freedom that is unparalleled.

This week I signed a new coaching client who wants to become a coach himself to make good money and travel the world.

I support his vision fully.

What’s been most amazing is helping you guys pivot from $600k to $750k jobs, step into your masculinity to set boundaries with the younger hungry dudes coming for your title, pivot into SaaS enterprise sales roles to hit 7-figures one day, and successfully navigate your divorce as an opportunity to setp into your full power.

The reward I get from coaching you guys is through the roof for me because I live for meaningful, deep, rich, and meaningful experiences.

Coaching you guys gives me more satisfaction than you know.

I only see 12 at a time, and I’ve got 3 spots left on my current roster for motivated new clients.

Topics I often support brothers with are new jobs, promotions, becoming a coach, starting your business, or scaling it.

However, our dialogues often dive into topics such as destiny, individuation, the hero’s journey, the greatest self, possibility, and personal transformation.

If you’re ready to face your fear and unlock your potential, reach out and let’s have a talk about your goals and see if we’d be a good fit to work together.
