Do These 10 Things To Skyrocket Your Earnings
Welcome to the Black Executive Men newsletter. If you are not a subscriber and want to join the newsletter, please do so below.
If you think about Black men an asset, we would be undervalued in the marketplace.
What do I mean?
I’ll give you an example.
I met with my client Keith, who worked at a Fortune 200 company and was making $210,000. He wasn’t getting promotions and was called the “nice guy” at work.
We worked together and improved his interviewing skills, his industry research skills, his networking skills, his professional brand, and helped him hit the job market.
Although he was skeptical at first, as we unlocked his potential as a leader, his confidence soared, and he landed a job making $70,000 in a new director role that was new to him and is something he loves.
He’s now on fire, speaking industry-wide about his expertise and inspiring others to reach their professional potential.

I gave him an education and framework that very few brothers get, and even less take action on.
As a community, we are undervalued due to a lack of action.
Corporate cannot hold us back at all when we unleash our full gifts upon the world. It’s impossible.
In my work with brothers over the past eight years of coaching and speaking with brothers, I’ve seen what the best of you guys do—those who fly up the chain to success—and what the worst of you guys do—those who feel stuck and are not fully aligned with your purpose and earning potential.
Success in corporate is about doing the right thing.
Not just anything.
Not just hoping.
Definitely not complaining. (Although there’s a place for that.)
Not wishing.
Not (just) praying.
Not talking to your wife.
Not lamenting to your frat or friends.
Not scrolling through LinkedIn and X (Twitter).
But taking the right actions to advance.
Now we know that being a brother can throw you into challenging racial dynamics, from not seeing other Black men in the C-suite or getting funded to outright bigoted comments or subtly noticing your non-Black peers getting promoted past you when you’re more qualified.
However, when we ask if you are optimized as an asset, as a performer, as a leader, as an industry expert, and as the best in the world at what you do (which is the expectation here), is your answer yes or no?
Over my eight years of doing this work and over a decade of helping my own dad struggle to win in business, the answer from brothers 9 times out of 10 times is “no”.
So as a community, we have to step into our full power, reject being rebels and outsiders to our own greatness, and accept that our deepest freedom and satisfaction will come through unlocking our potential and carrying it out in the world.

Below is a sobering but empowering self-assessment for you to do to let you know if you are fully optimized or not in the business world.
It’s our time to close the confidence gap—not between us and other races, but between our own potential and our limitless achievement.
This comes from taking the right action steps to get results, so let’s take a look.
Here are the steps to ultimate career success. If you are missing them, then you are likely underperforming and underearning in some way.

While I typically work with guys in their 30’s-50’s, younger guys reading this need to start locking these in now.
If you wait ‘til your 40’s to get started because you “have time,” you will find yourself decades behind your counterparts who are now running the company and took these actions in their 20’s.
A friend of mine, Logan Green, who now has a net worth of $140 million, was my political party running mate in college at UCSB. While I was focused on Black student activism, he was focused on building Zimride, which later became Lyft with an IPO market cap of $24.3 billion in 2019.
A recent client of mine, Chris Bennet, built out the elements above to secure $47 million in funding for his SaaS business, Wonderschool, which is valued at $150 million.
And another client of mine, “Greg Phillips” (not his real name), SVP at a well-known Fortune 500 company, used the formula above to pivot from his VP role to his current SVP role, while now entertaining 7-figure opportunities at other organizations.
With that said, I hope you guys have a great weekend and the week ahead.
If you’d like to get your 7-figure blueprint together and reach your next level of success in your job, job hunt, or business, you’re welcome to contact me for a 15-minute consultation at the link below.
