Master Executive Presence

Master Executive Presence:
Start with clear communication
Communicate determines your future

To elevate your executive presence, start by refining your ability to deliver clear and confident messages.

Action Plan for Today

  1. Choose a Key Message (5 Minutes) Pick one message you need to deliver this week—whether it’s an update, a proposal, or feedback. Write it down in one sentence.

  2. Practice for Clarity (10 Minutes) Say the message aloud. Focus on speaking slowly and clearly. Remove filler words like “um” or “you know.”

  3. Test It in Action (Today) The next time you’re in a meeting or conversation, deliver your message with:

  • A calm, confident tone.

  • Direct eye contact.

  • A short pause to let your words resonate.

Why This Matters...

When you master clear communication:

  • Leaders see you as composed and trustworthy, even in high-stakes situations.

  • Teams are motivated and aligned with your vision.

  • You stand out as a credible, influential presence in the room.

When you neglect it:

  • Your message gets lost, and others may misinterpret your ideas.

  • You appear unsure or unprepared, weakening trust in your leadership.

  • Opportunities to lead critical projects or take on new roles may pass you by.

Clear, confident communication builds the foundation for executive presence.

Without it, you risk being overlooked, misunderstood, or underestimated.

Take 15 minutes today to refine your communication and elevate how you show up as a leader.

Seniority Matters for Black Men

If you are over 40 and haven’t been promoted to a leadership role… That’s a problem. Why?

Because seniority is just as important as salary, and satisfaction.

Contrary to popular belief, you can have them all.

Seniority can:

- Increase your salary
- Increase your status
- Increase your network
- Increase your reputation
- Increase your opportunities
- Increase your confidence
- Increase your fulfillment
- Increase your authority
- Increase your satisfaction
- Increase your company stock
- Increase your prof dev budget
- Increase your leadership abilities
- Increase your job security
- Increase your respect
- Increase your perks

Many of the Black men I coach over 40 who have not been promoted feel…

- Frustrated
- Unfulfilled
- Unappreciated
- Devalued
- Underpaid
- Angry
- Worried
- Doubtful
- Concerned

Whether your organization is holding you back or your own fears are stopping you, we’re here to rise together.
